Sud-kivu : massacre de plus de 220 personnes à Itombwe, les députés provinciaux pointent les groupes armés Gumino et Twirwaneho.
Plus 220 personnes ont été massacrées, des femmes violées, plusieurs maisons incendiées et du bétail emporté dans la nuit du 16 au 17 Juillet 2020 à Kipupu dans le secteur d'Itombwe en territoire de Mwenga au sud-kivu.
C'est ce que rapportent les députés provinciaux dans leur déclaration rendue publique ce lundi 20 Juillet 2020, relative au massacre dans les hauts plateaux des territoires de Fizi, Mwenga et Uvira.
Ces élus signataires de la déclaration, condamnent ces faits gravissimes qui seraient l'oeuvre des groupes armés Gumino et Twirwaneho qui ont revendiqué cette attaque à travers un communiqué de presse publié dans les réseaux sociaux.
Soucieux de la paix, de l'unité et du développement de la province du sud-kivu, ces députés provinciaux recommandent au président de la République de matérialiser ses promesses de campagne dont celle de protection des civiles et de leurs biens, la pacification de l'Est de la République Démocratique du Congo, mais aussi renforcer les initiatives diplomatiques pour consolider la paix dans la sous-région.
Ils enjoint le gouvernement provincial d'apporter une aide urgente aux familles victimes et aux militaires qui sont aux front et de déployer une commission spéciale en toute urgence pour examiner de si près cette situation.
Ils invitent aussi la Monusco à jouer pleinement son rôle dans la pacification et la stabilisation de la paix à l'Est de la République Démocratique du Congo et rappellent que tous les civiles sans défense ont droit à une égale protection.
