Pourquoi MSF s'est désengagé alors que le nombre de cas COVID19 augmente à Goma ? (Réaction MSF )
Bien que le nouveau Coronavirus soit un problème de santé publique majeur en RDC avec 9 830 cas confirmés dont 603 dans la province du Nord Kivu, les épidémies en cours et les besoins en soins de santé de la population congolaise sont extrêmement nombreux, sans compter le retour d’Ebola dans la partie Ouest du pays.
Parce que Médecins sans Frontières doit pouvoir se rendre au chevet des patients souffrant d'autres pathologies, l’organisation a, en appui au Ministère de la Santé, renforcé le système de santé et l'accès aux soins de toute la population du Nord en construisant un centre de traitement multi-épidémique qui profitera à l’ensemble de la population du Nord Kivu, sous la responsabilité des autorités sanitaires régionales.
Les mécanismes de réponse à la pandémie de la COVID-19, auxquels tous les partenaires participent, sont toujours opérationnels à Goma, avec des équipes formées et des structures équipées. MSF a en outre renforcé le CTCO de Munigi et des mesures de prévention et de contrôle des infections, des capacités de triage et d’isolation des patients sont en place. La formation du personnel du ministère de la santé ont permis de renforcer les connaissances du personnel soignant sur le traitement des cas COVID-19.
